Mercedes-Benz has again taken the top spot for the largest fine for failing to meet US fuel-efficiency standards.The German car maker has been fined $US6.8million ($7.4million) by the US Government for failing to meet the mandated efficiency levels for 2009, though it's a significant improvement on the $US28.9million fine it incurred for 2008.Mercedes is one of six manufacturers that contributed $US13million in total to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for exceeding the limits.
